The OFFICIAL UNTOXICATED POEM

Well, well, well, what do we have here? A bloody legend and his ode to sobriety, that's what.

Our mate Terry wrote a poem especially for Untoxicated and we just love it. Thanks Terry - you’re a gentleman and a scholar! <3

UNTOXICATED

They all stand around me

Drinking unabated

And here I stand,

Untoxicated

I’m not really a drinker

I just don’t see the draw

Although I was when I was a teen

Back in the days of yore

I was the life of the party

So my mates had said

I wish I could remember

Why I woke up in a stranger’s bed

For I am a grown up now

And my priorities have shifted

I can wake up with a clear head

The fog has been lifted

During the week my mates are sober

For the weekend parties they long

Sunday Morning Coming Down

To me, is now just a song

I could have kept on drinking

Causing those around me sorrow

Drunk people think they’ve found happiness

They’ve just borrowed it from tomorrow

I still have a great time when I go out

But I remember what I’ve done

I don’t drive drunk or get into fights

And then try to call it ‘fun’

I don’t want to sound all preachy

This is just my choice

I’m just here to have my say

Without a slurred voice

They all stand around me

Drinking unabated

And here I stand,

Untoxicated.
