Board and Leadership
BOARD
Faye Lawrence, Founder + CEO
Faye Lawrence founded Untoxicated (Booze Free Fun and Friendship) in early 2018. Having been a heavy but high functioning drinker since her teens she wound up in inpatient detox in late 2017 after the wheels really fell off. Determined not to let her sobriety ruin her social life Untoxicated was born.
She is a TEDx speaker, co-author, and has featured widely across media. A social butterfly and a bit of an idealist, she believes in a world where everyone belongs, and advocates to normalise living alcohol-free and reduce stigma around addiction and mental health. Her lifelong fascination with human behaviour led to qualifications in psychology and coaching, and she’s currently completing a Master of Counselling.
She is mum to two adult children - Amber and Remy - and a badly behaved Bengal cat. Now 5 years sober she’s a Grey Area Drinking Coach trained by Jolene Park, for busy people who want to change their relationship with alcohol: www.fayelawrence.com.au and a Board Member of SMART Recovery Australia.

LEADERSHIP
Andrew Addie, Sydney Lead
Andrew is a diversity and inclusion specialist. His passion to ensure everyone is included, valued and celebrated in their workplaces and communities. He is an experienced advocate, diversity practitioner and has a knack for identifying problems and then coming up with solutions.
Andrew is a natural relationship builder, networker and all round good egg. Since giving up alcohol, he’s been very open about his journey with mental health and addiction, and coming out as both a gay man and as a non-drinker. He’s an avid life saver, pole dancer and person of unbridled hilarity.
Andrew really stepped up and took over the helm of Untoxicated as CEO for over a year (2021-22) - for which we are so incredibly grateful - and continues to be involved as our Sydney lead. Read his story here: https://untoxicated.com.au/owningit/andrew
Stuart Brownbill, Brisbane Lead
Stuart is passionate about health and fitness, is a regular gym goer and lover of mountain biking, hiking and camping. (Also, football but we don’t mention that as he supports a dodgy team).
Stuart has been involved in hosting with Untoxicated for around 4 years and is the driver of the infamous Untoxicated camping trips in QLD/NSW. He has a particular interest in men’s mental health and enjoys using his own experiences, training and passions to create opportunities for guys (and women) to come together.
Stuart has an interesting and adventurous career history including FIFO in PNG wilderness, working in a kibbutz, sports management, community services and he now runs his own NDIS business.
Emma Gilmour, Melbourne Lead
Emma was born in the UK and moved to Melbourne in Australia about ten years ago. She lives with a husband, two daughters and two cats (Sparkle and Frosty).
Emma had worked in corporate marketing for companies like Mars, Warner Bros & The Walt Disney Company for 20+ years. When, a couple of years ago, she felt burnt out and as if the life she was living was no longer made sense. She was tired of the long hours in the job she had always put first, her relationship with her husband was not in a good place and felt like she didn’t really know her kids. She left the corporate world, stopped drinking in 2020 after one incident too many and studied counselling and coaching.
She runs Hope Rising Coaching working with women who want to change their drinking, and her mission is to get rid of the stigma surrounding this. She’s been hosting with Untoxicated for a couple of years and can be contacted by email here.
