“Meeting folks with similar passions - without the alcohol - keeps you accountable and reinforces your motivation”

Jason has been involved with Untoxicated since the early days, first becoming a moderator in the private FB support group and then leaping into hosting. Jason is heavily involved in the recovery community in a number of ways including co-hosting Recovery Dharma online meetings. He’s a bit of a legend in recovery circles is our Jase and he brings a sense of fun, a love of house music and a deep compassion and kindness to Untox.

What drew you to becoming an Untoxicated host?

I felt the Untoxicated concept was a great idea, and needed to be supported to be successful.

What do you like about being a host?

It helps with my self-confidence and my change of lifestyle (since I no longer drink).

It's an awesome group to meet people on a more genuine level, there is a greater level of honesty in people (even if they often are shy/cautious at first....as many people are).

Have you benefited from being a host?

Definitely; I've made some great friends who I love catching up with.

Often we've got similar stories around alcohol, and our shared experiences and make for a strong connection where we can feel safe to share and be vulnerable whilst having fun.

What would you say to someone considering becoming a host?

Becoming a host is a great step towards gaining confidence in your new lifestyle without alcohol.

“It lets you bring your own passion for life and whatever activities you enjoy, and to share them with like-minded people.”

Meeting folks with similar passions (without the alcohol) keeps you accountable and reinforces your motivation and positive attitude to become a better person.
